Photo Challenge Day # 69, 70

Day # 69

We made a trip to Victoria, BC! What a beautiful, historical, wonderful place! We saw lots, we walked lots, we ate lots (yes! sea food!) and plus I had learned a lot too!
I took over 800 pictures, so, picking out the ones I would like you to see and post for my photo Challenge is a challenge!
The first morning, we walked down to the  Inner harbour, sat and had coffee, we watched the Harbour Ferries/water taxis zip about, the sea gulls flew over head and people making their way to work. We quickly discovered that a lot of shops do not open until between 10-11a.m!

We went shopping!!

After lunch we did our own driving tour of Victoria! I loved the smell of the ocean! Climbing around rocks and drift wood!  Seeing the old homes, wondering about the lifestyle, the story behind the windows and doors of these Victorian homes. What can I say about all the flowering scrubs, and plants everywhere! I loved the colours, the smell, and yes, I was trying to figure out how to take plants and cuttings home (if only they would survive Prince George winters) ….but, my favourite place to be was at the beaches!

The Day ended with a Romantic walk to dinner, and back to the hotel!

Day # 70

This morning we had booked a trip with "Springtide" to do some whale watching. It was exhilarating! The view awesome! I loved the sea air! We were a little disappointed that we didn't see a whale.  We did see saw lots of ocean, ships and wild life on Discovery Island. Our tour even took us into the USA waters!

We left there and stopped by Witty's Lagoon. It was a great place to stop and walk. You can see the ocean, as well as the bird life at the lagoon.

Royal Roads

Royal Roads

Our last stop was at Royal Roads University. I had a family member attend Royal Roads when it was a military college. So, the trip there felt special.

We arrived at Shawingan Lake ready to relax and  plan for the next adventure.
My next posting will be Day #71 and # 72!
I hope you enjoy these photographs.
