Photo Challenge Day # 71 & # 72

Day #71

Morning at Shawnigan Lake was quiet and relaxing. I decided to try and take photos of the the hummingbirds feeding! So, with camera and coffee I did managed to get a few pictures.
After feeling rested, and restored from the past 2 days adventures. We headed out to Mill Bay to do a few errands and afterwards  to Bamperton Provincial Park for a walk on the beach!

Can you see the tiny crab?

Our last stop for the day was at Gold stream Prov. Park. You can walk, or just sit and relax. The trees! Huge, ancient, and tall! Such a beautiful place. I couldn't find the words.

We headed back to Shawnigan lake for dinner, glass of wine and relaxed on the deck looking out at the lake

Day # 72

Today, we decided to head up to Coombs! There was a lot of talk about Goats on a roof! So, we decided to make a day of it!
We did have a few stops in mind along the way.
Our first stop was in Chemainus to see the painted murals. At the museum, we were approached by a wonderful gentleman, who asked us where we were from. He is a volunteer. When he entered the museum, the other volunteers greeted him. I smiled, because a few short years ago, that was my father, volunteering at the museum in the City of Greenwood, BC!

My Dad, Arno Hennig

Me!

The next stop was in Parksville, at Rathtrevor Beach Prov. Park. It was low tide. It was truly  amazing, the smells, the sunshine, the breeze and as you walked closer to the ocean, the sounds.

We had lunch in Coombs. A small town with a unique tourist attraction. Every town has one. Prince George BC has Mr. PG, Greenwood BC has the tunnel of flags, Coombs has goats on a roof!  Well, we saw a grassy roof,  but no goats.  We did have a delicious lunch at the Cuckoo Italian Bistro.

Grandma Julie Hey there Ashton and Aleah! I am sitting
in the same spot!
During lunch we decided to take a drive to Tofino BC. I have always wanted to go the furthest west of Canada!

Photo Challenge Day # 72 "Long beach"
Tofino reminds me of a fishing village turned resort town. With lots of resorts, gift shops, surfing schools and Bistros complete with tour boats. Now I can say that I was in the Pacific Rim National Park.

On the way back to Shawnigan Lake, we stopped at the Macmillan Bloedel Prov. Park to take a break and view the Cathedral Trails. (which is located at the east side of Port Alberni)
I kept looking to see if I could find
Robin Hood!

One of amazing trees. There are trees in the
park that are over 500 yrs old!

Our last stop was once again Rathtrevor Beach!

Evening at Rathtrevor Beach
Enjoy the photographs! Which  one of these pictures are your favourite?
See you with my next posting Day # 73 and # 74!
