A Story
There once was a little brown bear, who was tucked in his den with his twin sister bear and his protective mother.
He was deep in sleep, dreaming about the things bears dream about. Catching that prize fish, eating a belly full of berries, finding ways of surprising his sister and of course his bear wrestling. The sister didn't like that much as she liked her fur tidy. The little brown bear was curious, about the humans and their habits. He liked exploring their dens. But his mother told him he would get himself into trouble one day. Usually he was dragged away before he finished eating the food in the large containers the humans left outside.
The three bears just got settled in their long winters nap. The mother bear and his sister were doing great bear snores. When he heard a noise. He thought he recognized the noise, where the humans live. He wasn't sure what it all meant. But, he was interested and curious and he really needed to find out, cause he thought if there were humans, there would be some delicious food and interesting things to explore. He really wanted to know more about them.
He quietly crept over his sister, around his mother and squeezed out of the cave.
There were 4 humans, 2 large ones and 2 cub size. They were making this noise…not a scary noise…he has heard that kind of noise before. They were grunting in human "Jingle bells, jingle bells"….
and they were dragging a green pine tree down the hill in the snow. The little brown bear he followed and watched, he followed and watched.
While he was watching the humans with their tree,he was approached by a little human. The little human spoke 'bear' and introduced himself as "Elf". He wanted to know where the bear was headed. The bear told him about his adventures so far.
The elf explained to the bear about how the humans put the tree in their homes, to decorate for Christmas. Now bear more curious stopped listening to Elf and continued to follow the humans to their den.
When the Elf and Bear got to the humans den, they could see inside and they watched with interest as the humans put all sorts of objects on the tree, even nests and birds. Bear could smell food, delicious human food.
Oh how he wished he could go in and see the tree, touch the tree and taste their food.
The elf whispered in the bears ear said he could make his wish come true…how ever, once you have entered the humans home…there you will remain.
Well, the little bear who was more curious than cautious…entered the home.
