This weekend was a good time to get outside and start on my spring yard clean up. While
I was cleaning, I found a wasp nestled between 2 of my white plastic outdoor chairs. No one (wasp) was home (thankful).
I did find the nest very interesting. They are very industrious insects. As I studied the nest closely, I was amazed at it structure.
The wasps that build these type of nests are social wasps. They produce nests that are predominantly constructed from wood pulp. Multiple fibrous brood cells are constructed, and arranged in a honeycomb pattern and often surrounded by protective layers.

I hope you enjoyed your short science lesson!
See you tomorrow for Day # 33
Jewels

Love wasp and bees nests. Amazing! I saw where someone left different colour paper daily, close by for them and the nest turned out like a rainbow.
